Our Past Achievements
Our past achievements are a long legacy spanning from our founding in 1931. With a rich history our organization has been a pillar of community development and inclusion for years. Take a look at some of the amazing organizations that have worked with us, and success stories we are very proud of.
1994
Mobility for the Immobile
Presented a van to North Wentworth for those suffering from disability in need of transportation.
1993
Sheltering Elder Care
Dundas Lions raised and donated $15,000 to Variety Village.
1991
Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton
The Dundas Lions Club donated $25,000 to aid for families of sick children.
1988
Community and Hearing Impairment
The DLC donated $5,000 to The Copetown Lions Clubin their drive to build a Community Centre. Donated to the Lions Hearing Dog program.
1987
Transportation for the blind
Presented a van to the CNIB, for recreational public transit in Hamilton for the blind.
1984
Mans Best Friend
The Dundas Lions Club generously donated to the building of Canine Vision, Canada Guide Dog School in Oakville.
1982
Rebuilding Dundas Activity
Assisted in the campaign and cost to rebuild the Dundas Arena.
1980
Investment in Culture
Provided the property for the Centre for the Arts.
1973
Dundas Lions Memorial Armoury
Initiated the purchase of the retired armoury by Dundas Square and underwrote the cost.
1970
Community Pool ~ Built ~
Dundas Lions donated the land and chaired the committee for the enclosed pool on Creighton Road.
1960
Canadian National Institute for the Blind
Lions Assisted in founding the local cell of the CNIB to help with members in the community
1950
Land Donation
In building up the community The Dundas Lions Club donated land to construct the J.L. Grightmire Market Street Arena formally the Dundas Community Arena
